Michael Jackson: A Jacket Story

I'm not sure if it's because his last name almost spells jacket or what but our partly beloved and partly rejected Michael Jackson, used jackets as a staple for his signature style. As a child I clearly remembered Michael Jackson by his skillful dance moves and by his jackets! Everything he wore appeared specially made for him, Michael Jackson Couture perhaps? His creative magic gave him status in the fashion world and even if you didn't agree with his choices you had to admit no one else dressed like him. The King of Pop was also The King of Style courtesy of  his unique and trendsettingly edgy looks that led him to team up with Ed Hardy's fashion designer Christian Audigier and create his own clothing line Unfortunately for us, the line has yet to be released. Seeing what Michael Jackson was wearing was just as exciting as seeing his moonwalk. His gift of song, dance, and fashion are exceptionally missed. Michael Jackson taught us that style was about being daring, being bold, and making a statement all your own. Today is the anniversary of the passing of the legendary icon and I chose to remember him the way I used to as a child...by his jackets.
